Alex Hurter - a personal trainer specialising in postpartum fitness and pelvic health created Uplift to offer a fresh approach to her clients.

 

No more unrealistic body goals and miserable diets, Uplift will teach you how to build long term healthy habits around, fun, function, freedom and community that will have you looking and feeling better than ever before.

Fun

 Having an enjoyable lifestyle is key to creating and sustaining long term healthy habits.

 At Uplift fun is guaranteed in every session and

outside of the gym, I encourage you to find activities that bring you joy; beach walks, exploring a new location, swimming, dancing in the kitchen.

All movement is good movement. And this approach applies to food too, balance and moderation are key so don’t deprive yourself of the things you love.

Function

While I am here to help you smash your fitness

and body composition goals,

function is my priority.

I want you to have a body that works as well as possible so if you are suffering with the symptoms of incontinence, abdominal separation or an old sports injury I will work with you to try and improve and restore function while also working on any other goals you have.

Freedom

Whether gaining food freedom by breaking away from the cycle of dieting or

freedom from embarrassing and uncomfortable symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction,

Uplift will help you to gain freedom and control over your

body, habits and life.

Community

Community is at the heart of Uplift and why I rarely offer

1-2-1 sessions.

Connection is integral to good health, especially when navigating new, sometimes daunting phases like motherhood or when dealing with what can feel like shameful experiences like incontinence and prolapse, sharing tips, solidarity and support is truly uplifting.

Small Group PT

What to expect

  • Initial consultation 

  • Small groups of no more than 2 clients for accountability and atmosphere.

  • Expertly programmed 45 minute sessions of functional exercises designed to improve strength, endurance and mobility

  • Fitness programme to follow outside of our sessions

  • Free Uplift Guide - all clients receive the Uplift guide, a printed document which includes non negotiable healthy habits, nutrition guides and progress tracker

             Minimum 8 week sign up

            Sessions Tuesday and Thursday

Small Group Postnatal PT

What to expect

  • Initial consultation 

  • Small groups of no more than 2 clients for accountability and atmosphere.

  • Expertly programmed 45 min sessions combining breathwork techniques, Pilates and strength training to restore pelvic floor, abdominals and rebuild overall strength and fitness.

  • Solidarity & community - becoming a mum is a huge adjustment and can feel overwhelming, in your session you will be supported and cheered on in our light hearted and non judgmental space.

  • Fitness programme to follow outside of our sessions

  • Free Uplift Guide - all clients receive the Uplift guide, a printed document which includes non negotiable healthy habits, nutrition guides and progress tracker

              All sessions are BYOB (bring your own baby) and are suitable from four weeks post birth*

             *dependant on recovery and if pre 8 weeks birth your programme will be adapted accordingly.

 

              Minimum 8 week sign up

Total Core Restore Class

What to expect

A totally unique weekly Pilates based class designed to strengthen and restore the muscles of the core and pelvic floor.

​

Whether you are a new mum, are peri/post or currently menopausal, if you have symptoms of incontinence or are simply someone looking for a class to strengthen your abdominals and keep symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction at bay - this is the class for you.

​

​

               Suitable for all fitness levels;

               including postnatal

​

                If under physio plan for PFD or POP

Hypopressives With Alex

What to expect

A 14 week symptom improvement programme providing life changing improvements for

incontinence, prolapse and other symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction.

 

I know first hand how embarrassing and debilitating incontinence can be and refused to give up my hobbies of weightlifting or resign myself to wearing pads forever in my early thirties.

 

So I set about finding an alternative and discovered hypopressives

 

After around 4 weeks practicing the technique I stopped leaking,

improving my day to day life and confidence so much so that I became

a coach to help other women take back their function and freedom.

​

I am now a proud Create Lift coach trained by Alice Housman

(check out her brilliant Hypopressives With Alice content on youtube)

whose fantastic work collecting data on her clients progress

over the years has proven and accredited the efficacy

of this technique which is now being recommended by

women's health physiotherapists for symptom improvement.
